Fulton Sheen, Pope Pius XII and the Nazis

Whilst reading Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen's autobiography, I noticed that he makes several references to then Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli (later Pope Pius XII) condemning Nazism and Hitler whilst they were in each other's company. This, for anyone familiar with the work of Pacelli in Germany as Nuncio there, is not surprising given his vocal and unflinching opposition to Nazism.

Whilst many have tried to slander the great Pope and thus delay his beatification, let us see this delay as well as the delay of the Beatification of the Archbishop by similar ridiculous politics, as a sign of their sanctity. The unholy hate what is best and pure in our Catholic faith.

Pope Pius XII referred to Sheen as a prophet for our times. I think that it is fair to not only agree, but to refer to both men as so.

Please God someday we will be fortunate enough to perhaps attend a double beatification of these two great men who devoted their lives to the service of Our Lord and his Church.
